JOURNEYS INTO CRAFT BEER
Double-Barrelled are a husband and wife team who set off on a year long trip around the world sampling craft beer. 85,000 miles later, they continued the adventure – setting up their own brewery and range of premium beer.
They wanted us to create a premium brand with a distinctive logo mark to help them stand out in a busy craft environment. They wanted each beer label to be inspired by a different story from their travels – without being gimmicky.
We created an abstract interlocking D & B logo mark, echoing both a backpack clip and a butterfly – a nod to travel and the ‘butterfly effect’ of their adventures. On the label we used monochromatic images inspired by their stories in a simple template for a minimalist, contemporary craft design.
Double-Barrelled are soon to open their brewery in Reading and have already had lots of interest in their innovative beer.

Launching into the market at Craft Beer Rising amongst 170 other breweries was a real test of how our brand would be received. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive with consumers, bottle shops, retailers & distributors all noting how it fit the craft market perfectly. The only negative was some said it looked too professional for a start up company brand! We’ll take that.”
